Details
- Extremely durable drop point blade
- Ergonomic handle design (textured, deep finger grooves, and jimping)
- Sheath allows multiple carry positions
The Schrade SCHF3N is a 6.4 inch, non-serrated, fixed blade, one of the most popular knives in the company's Extreme Survival series. The blade is forged from 7Cr17 high carbon Stainless Steel, extremely durable and razor sharp. In addition, the blade has great edge holding capability.
This drop point blade is quite versatile - perfect for both combat and survival. It can be used for demanding tasks such as chopping and batoning or lighter tasks such as skinning and carving. It can also be used as a defensive weapon due to its effective piercing capability.
The SCHF3N's handle is made of Micarta which is quite strong and performs well in all kinds of conditions. Large allen bolts are used to attach the Micarta scales together. Aside from being quite sturdy, the handle's design is very ergonomic. It is lightly textured and has large finger grooves as well as some jimping on its spine to ensure a solid, comfortable grip.
Schrade's SCHF3N comes with a ballistic sheath (with a plastic insert) that offers multiple carry positions. A small external pocket in the sheath allows users to carry a fire starter, compass, or sharpener. A Velcro retainer strip is used to hold the knife in place.
All in all, this is a dependable knife well-constructed for extreme survival.
