About This Knife
Details
- Full tang |
What's this?A "full tang" blade is a solid piece of metal that extends fully through the knife's handle. A full tang blade is inherently stronger than a jointed or partial tang blade.
- 4116 Krupp Stainless Steel for edge retention
- Non-slip Kraton handle
- Jimping on the base of the blade for better grip and control
Due to the success of the Pendleton Lite Hunter, economical versions of the Tanto and Outdoorsman knives were produced. These knives are quite similar to their more pricey counterparts. They have similar blades, handles, pommels, and guards. There are two significant differences though. The more economical versions have blades made of 4116 Krupp Stainless Steel, which are slightly thinner, and the handles are made of less costly materials.
Manufacturing the handle is done in two parts. First comes a pommel, a guard, and a core section made of Polypropylene; the latter completely enclosing the knife's full tang. Then, the core is covered with a deeply checkered Kraton to create a solid grip that prevents slipping even when wet and can be easily cleaned with just soap and water.
The knife comes complete with a pouch-style Cordura sheath which has a belt loop. The sheath can easily be placed on the belt, in a pack, or in a tackle box, allowing you to safely carry the knife wherever you may be.
