1095 Carbon Steel Blades
1095 Carbon Steel holds its edge well and sharpens fairly easily. It is the most common carbon steel you'll find in knife blades--it's a standard, inexpensive steel that performs well.
Keep in mind that all carbon steels, including 1095, will rust if you're not careful, so make sure to occasionally wipe down the blade with WD40, mineral oil, or vegetable oil.
